THE NEXT STEP AFTER SALVATION.
Baptism is letting the world know that you’ve made a heart-felt commitment to following Christ.
Why should I get baptized?
Jesus commanded us to be baptized in “Matt 28:19-20a “Go then and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you,”
Jesus was baptized as an example to us. “Matt 3:13 “Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John.”
Dunked or Sprinkled?
The Greek word used for baptism in the New Testament means to plunge, dip, or immerse in water. Being baptized is picture to us of dying to our old self and being raised up a new creation. Mark 1:10 refers to Jesus as “coming up out of the water.” We believe the Biblical example of being baptized is best fulfilled by being immersed, or dunked, in water.
Who should be baptized?
Baptism is an important step of obedience that shows others that someone has personally trusted Jesus for their salvation. Every person who believes in Jesus should be baptized. Having decided to trust Jesus alone for their salvation, they follow Him in baptism as a symbol of their new life in Him.
“Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.” (Acts 2:41)
What do I wear?
Please bring a plastic bag for your wet clothing, a towel, and a change of clothes. Please wear dark slacks, jeans or knee-length shorts and a dark T-shirt (no swimsuits). We will provide changing areas.
What about children?
Luke 18:16 “Jesus called the children to him and said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
When a child makes a decision for Christ and is old enough to understand the true meaning of baptism, we gladly baptize them as a symbol of their faith in Christ.
